A historical documentary about men who lived on the Kansas River during reconstruction.
Five years after the war ends, Jake Washington appears on the scene, building a cabin just below the dam on the river. His presence helps to rebuild commerce in the area, provide assistance during floods, and retrieve/rescue drowning victims until he, Abe Burns, and other men like them are caught in a trap of changing game laws that suddenly make them criminals.
