(lighthearted music) - Across our state and across the world, Kansas artists inspire us and enrich our communities with their talents and creativity.
This program celebrates those Kansas artists, some of whom you may know and others you may not, by bringing you remarkable performances from my office, the beautiful and historic Kansas State House.
(lighthearted music continues) Welcome to the "LG Desk Concerts."
- I'm Sierra Scott.
In this edition of the "LG Desk Concerts" series, we feature the beautiful chamber music of the Opus 76 Quartet.
Founded in 2017, just six years later, they debuted at Carnegie Hall.
Who does that?
That's crazy.
You're gonna see why.

You do 'em at children's homes or you do 'em at soup kitchens, all sorts of places.
Why do you think that's so important?
Why do you donate your time to that?
- Well, music is the universal language.
And the beauty of classical music in particular is that people have an instant connection with it without having any background in it whatsoever.
Not only people who become instrumentalists like myself, but just listeners.
And it's an important way of being able to communicate and reach out to people that transcends the message we make with words sometimes.
I think that's why it's important for me.
It helps to connect different parts of society that wouldn't otherwise be connected.
